RE:SOURCE is a contemporary art exhibition with a widespread social issue of eco-consciousness.
This environmental project connects visitors with the natural world of nowadays, massive pollution of the island, overconsumption and climate change.
The space of the exhibition is divided into three landscapes: nature, human and post-human. 25 artists of different nationalities living in Cyprus experiment with light, design and materials to create an expressive and loud statement.
The works created with materials scavenged from littered landscapes, salvage yards, junk shops or waste collection points speak for the huge environmental effect of the garbage pollution and also represent art of transforming useless objects into aesthetic artworks.
Featuring over 50 items including paintings, sculptures, installations and video-art, this is the first large-scale ecological exhibition in Cyprus to consider the human impact on the environment.
The exhibition's mission is not only to broadcast the problems we are facing today but to encourage us to make a change through our daily habits and implementation of 5R principles: reuse, reduce, refuse, recycle and roots.
Considering the complex relationship with the environment, RE:SOURCE invites you to reflect on the values our life is based on and questions what the future of humanity might look like.
